We all know the importance of learning the results of medical tests quickly. Veterinarians and clients both want accurate results as soon as possible. To this end, we have outfitted our veterinary hospital with sophisticated diagnostic imaging and laboratory equipment.
At Wellesley-Natick Veterinary Hospital, we are equipped with a state-of-the-art veterinary laboratory, capable of providing results within 30 minutes in urgent situations. We are also able to perform out own pre-anesthetic testing for surgical patients. Our equipment allows us to obtain results for chemistry panels, complete blood counts, urinalyses, ear cytologies, canine and feline heartworm testing, and many other laboratory tests. For some routine matters, we may work with various off-site laboratories to save clients’ cost.
We believe in providing outstanding veterinary care to our patients. That is why our animal hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging, including digital radiology, ultrasound, and digital dental X-ray equipment. High quality imaging facilitates accurate diagnosis, which guides treatment plans and helps your pet feel better sooner.
Ultrasound and X-rays are non-invasive yet powerful tools that reveal a great deal of information about what is going on inside your pet’s body, often eliminating more invasive procedures like surgery.
Our facility is equipped with the latest in digital radiography, the new standard in radiography technology. Digital images provide extremely high quality images of your pet, which are helpful in seeing masses, tumors, and obstructions, as well as detecting pregnancies, arthritis, and more.
Digital radiography uses an electronic sensor (instead of X-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged helping us to detect problems easier.
We also perform cardiac scans or echocardiography. Ultrasound images of the heart provide the best overall examination of the heart’s structure and function to determine how efficient your pet’s heart is functioning and to locate any possible health issues.
